Four great columns of
white
marble from Carrara close
and define the altar where
the Saint's wooden statue
is surrounded by angels.
The statue is a work of
Giacomo di Caterino (1450)
while the marble statues
on the sides and above repre-
senting the Virtues and
the the Risen Christ are
works of Bernardo Falcone
and Giusto Le Court. The
large impressive painting
set on the wall of the facade
depicts St. Anthony of Pa-
dua raising a man from the
dead, by the Genoan artist
Francesco Rosa.
