Formerly the chapel of
the School of St. Francis,
whose crest is still visible
over the arch, it contains
a 14th century monument
to Arnoldo d' Este and a
Gothic monument to the Florentine
ambassador Duccio Alberti.
On the left-hand pillar
of the chapel are an epigraph
commemorating the consecration
of the Basilica ( 27th May
1492 ) and a small 13th
century bas relief of the
Dead Christ.
The altar is a recent work
by the sculptor Vincenzo
Cadorin ( early 20th century
), with fine gildings by
the brothers Michieli of
the Frari.
