                                                  chapel was built in 1482 by 
                                                  the Bernardo family and presents 
                                                  a precious polyptych by Bartolomeo 
                                                  Vivarini, portraying the Virgin 
                                                  Enthroned with the Child on 
                                                  Her knee. The work is set on 
                                                  the altar within a rich and 
                                                  graceful Renaissance frame, 
                                                  and was renamed Madonna della 
                                                  Salute ( Our Lady of Good Health 
                                                  ) after the plague of 1631. 
                                                  In the upper part of the polyptych 
                                                  is the painting of the Dead 
                                                  Christ. Lorenzetti judged the 
                                                  whole work as " strongly 
                                                  stylised with vigorous use of 
                                                  colour ". On the right-hand 
                                                  wall you may have a look at 
                                                  a beautiful Gothic urn dedicated 
                                                  in 1500 to Girolamo and Lorenzo 
                                                  Bernardo, likely to be a work 
                                                  by Dalle Masegne.  |  |
